Bangalore Begur, Bangalore, Karnataka

It was the intense desire of Devamatha Province to start an Educational Institution in Bangalore. Many youth from Kerala and elsewhere reach in Bangalore everyday in search of learning and seeking new job opportunities. Frs. Francis Kanichikattil and Jose Pereppadan, the pioneers of a new venture made the painstaking spadework for the realization of an Educational Institution. They bought nearly 18 acres of land at Begur (16 k.m. south-west of Dharmaram College) and registered Devamatha Educational Foundation. Fathers of Devamatha community in Dharmaram College by all means supported them. The long cherished dream of Devamatha Province was realized when Fr. Jerome Cherussery, the then Provincial, laid the foundation stone of the I.C.S.E. School on Dec.11, 2004 in the presence of the Education Secretary of the Devamatha Province, Rector of Dharmaram College and other fathers and brothers of the Province. The construction work was soon done and a portion of the building was blessed by the Provincial on June 13, 2005 and started functioning. Fr. Joice Elavathingal, the Principal with his vision and foresight is giving a shape to the new School. He is ably helped by Fr. Joy Payyapilly, the then Finance cum Development Officer and Fr. Francis Kanichikattil, the then Managing Trustee. At present there are 910 students, and 60 Teachers, 53 supporting Staff.
It is the fond hope of the members of the Devamatha Province that, with God’s grace this mustard seed will sprout and grow into gigantic tree providing excellent facilities for learning and character formation of the future generation of our nation.
